Client data commitments
Client trust matters. Hon Method starts with the smallest useful set of information, limits access and agrees what happens to the files before work begins.
Access
A focused review normally begins with limited exports from systems the client already uses. If an export cannot answer the agreed question, read-only access may be considered with explicit approval. Unrestricted administrator access is not the default.
Commitments
Only fields needed for the agreed business question are requested.
Names, email addresses, phone numbers and street addresses are removed when they are unnecessary. Pseudonymous customer IDs remain protected client data.
Files are kept in a dedicated project folder with access limited to the engagement.
Files are shared through an agreed secure method, preferably a client-controlled folder rather than ordinary email attachments.
Raw client files and customer-level records are not uploaded to ChatGPT or other generative AI tools. AI may be used only with anonymized summaries when the client has approved that use.
A retention and deletion date is agreed before files are received. Source files are returned or deleted at the end, and deletion is confirmed.
Ownership & incidents
The client owns its data and client-specific deliverables. Hon Method retains only pre-existing methods and reusable templates that do not contain the client’s information.
If I suspect client information has been exposed or accessed improperly, I will notify the client promptly and cooperate on the next steps.
These are operating commitments for client work, not a guarantee of legal compliance. Any special security, regulatory or contractual requirement should be agreed before information is transferred.
Before information changes hands
A proposal identifies the question, exact inputs, access method, retention period and deletion date before a project begins.
